Ways to get involved and help

Have you ever wondered how you can help the Friends of the Hammond Library move forward with our plans to renovate our beloved library. Well look no further!

Straight from the most amazing librarian, Michelle Johnson has a few great ways to dive in and get involved!

The Friends of the Library are looking for volunteers to help them with their project of raising funds to renovate the library. There are many opportunities for all skill sets to assist in the project.

Fundraising help volunteers, grant seeking and writing volunteers, and library advocates.

Sign up for Heartland Day fundraising activities is available at the front desk. The Friends group is seeking help with carnival type games on August 6.
Supervision of art projects on August 7 and 8 for the Bookalooza art challenge. What is the Bookalooza? The Bookalooza is taking your favorite book and bringing it to life as an art creation. Your creation then will be auctioned off September 25 at the Friends Art Show.

Other ways you can help raise funds for the Library Renovation project. Use Goodsearch (www.goodsearch.com) when you are doing internet searches. Goodsearch donates one cent per search back to your designated organization (Hammond Community Library). You can also use Goodshop (www.goodshop.com) in the same way, when you shop online you can earn money for the library, just designate the Hammond Community Library as your organization.

Another way is to donate to United Way and designate your money to go to the Friends of the Hammond Community Library, Inc.

Please step in and step up. :)  We have great FUN ways to get involved and help.
