Goodshop and AmazonSmile

Our President Cathy Skoula just donated $14.50 to the cause of our library renovations, and she did it by buying a new washer and dryer from the Home Depot.  The way she did it was through Goodshop!

Many of us are used to using Google as our search engine, but did you know there is something called goodsearch.  Every search you do through goodsearch is a penny for our cause!  Join goodsearch and goodshop, find our cause by searching for the Hammond Community Library.

And Don't forget AMAZON!!!!!  IF you shop  via Amazon make a simple EASY switch to Amazon Smile!   After You have set yourself up on goodsearch your next step is searching for Amazon Smile.  Denote that you are supporting the Friends of the Hammond Community Library and PRESTO!  Amazon will donate a portion for every purchase made!

So that is just two EASY ways to start helping out our great library meet our lofty goal.  Slow and steady we will get there!

Enjoying the Llamas with a cold float in your hand and popcorn in your belly!

IF you live in St. Croix county in Wisconsin you may be familiar with a quirky event that happens in the heart of the county.  It's a day when the Llamas are the talk of the sleepy town of Hammond Wisconsin.  They are not only the talk of the town, but they RUN it!  That is right, it is getting close to the second Saturday in September.  What, you ask, happens on that fun day?

The Friends of the Hammond Library are hosting the float and popcorn stand from 11- 4 pm and we would love your presence!  So Come out! Enjoy the Llamas. Get a float and popcorn and support our great event and AMAZING LIBRARY!!!!!!

Ways to get involved and help

Have you ever wondered how you can help the Friends of the Hammond Library move forward with our plans to renovate our beloved library. Well look no further!

Straight from the most amazing librarian, Michelle Johnson has a few great ways to dive in and get involved!

The Friends of the Library are looking for volunteers to help them with their project of raising funds to renovate the library. There are many opportunities for all skill sets to assist in the project.

Fundraising help volunteers, grant seeking and writing volunteers, and library advocates.

Sign up for Heartland Day fundraising activities is available at the front desk. The Friends group is seeking help with carnival type games on August 6.
Supervision of art projects on August 7 and 8 for the Bookalooza art challenge. What is the Bookalooza? The Bookalooza is taking your favorite book and bringing it to life as an art creation. Your creation then will be auctioned off September 25 at the Friends Art Show.

Other ways you can help raise funds for the Library Renovation project. Use Goodsearch (www.goodsearch.com) when you are doing internet searches. Goodsearch donates one cent per search back to your designated organization (Hammond Community Library). You can also use Goodshop (www.goodshop.com) in the same way, when you shop online you can earn money for the library, just designate the Hammond Community Library as your organization.

Another way is to donate to United Way and designate your money to go to the Friends of the Hammond Community Library, Inc.

Please step in and step up. :)  We have great FUN ways to get involved and help.

Great NEWS!!!!

Today is a great day full of sunshine and wonderful news.

At the last post we were told it would be anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months before we would hear back about approval for the Friends of the Hammond Community Library 501(c)3 status.  Well today was the day!  We have been approved and given our official papers for this worthy non-profit organization.
We are so excited,  We hope you are too!!!
Please come along side us and help this project come to life!

We have a long road ahead.
We still need volunteers and helpers for the grant writing process, as well as, many other opportunities throughout the year that our group will be raising funds for our amazing library. There are a lot of ways to get involved and if you are interested we have our next meeting Monday May, 11th 6pm at the Hammond Community Library.  Mark your calender and join us on the journey to creating a fresh space for our family and future families.

501 3c In Process

A update on the Friends of the Hammond Community Library Group:

Good News!
We finished the application for our non profit and it has been received by the government!

NOT Good BUT not BAD news!

IT will take 6-8 weeks for them to process the application.

We are a patient bunch and we are grateful that they will contact us if there is any missing information or if they have questions.

This step is the longest, but in the end this step is the most crucial for our fundraising and grant writing efforts.  We are headed in the right direction and can't wait to dig deep to get the renovation ball rolling.
