Meeting recap from July 27th

Hammond Heartland Days is fast approaching and  the Friends of the Hammond Library have planned some fun and creative activities for the weekend.

The Friends group gathered on Monday evening to work out the final details of the Carnival we will be hosting down at the park on Thursday August 6th. Bring the kids down for a bounce house and carnival games. It will be held from 4-7 pm.

The Book -a- looza!  Come ready to create some art with books in mind!  It will be available at the library Friday August 7th 9-6 pm and Saturday August 8th from 9-3 pm.

Up-cycle Pallet Art! Saturday August 8th ages 4-8 years old start at 9 a.m. and  9 and up can come to the library at 11 am.  There is a cost for this activity!  Please go to the library for more details of the creative fun that can be had with an old pallet made into something new!

Look for the Friends of the Hammond Library walking in the Parade on Sunday at 12:30pm.
If walking in the parade is something you would like to do,  buy a white t-shirt and get the iron on logo at the Library.   We would love more people to walk the parade or volunteer at any event! Any help is MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!! Contact Michelle at the library if any day works to be apart of the festivities!

Lastly, we have a couple fun things coming up in September. On Sept 12th during the Running of the Llamas the Friends of the Hammond Library will be having a Coca cola root beer stand along with popcorn. Enjoy the race with some tasty treats! We have been also collecting art pieces over the summer that will be in our Art Auction later on in the month. We will keep you posted on more details in future blog posts!

We look forward to seeing you and your support!
